Our new companions have potential. With a lot of work and some luck, they could almost be competent. They do not seem to think fast on their feet though, especially the male. He'll either learn to adjust a plan as the situation calls for it, or he will die. He has yet to demonstrate whether or not he will be mourned. He wasted perfectly good poison on a mere dog, leaving the rest of us to deal with the hill giant. I took a small measure of satisfaction when the hill giant nearly flattened him in a single blow. I healed him this time. Next time, perhaps he'll learn some basic combat skills. Wrench may teach him.
The female is useful, and knows her place. Keep Wrench in tip top form. Now if only she could find a way to make Wrench smart enough to not alert the prey before the trap is sprung.
We fought more abberations, and were somewhat victorious. My companions made a poor showing. Especially Alystia, who was conquered by a wall less than twice her height.
I thought after flattening the giant with lightning I could relax a bit, but my companions were incompetent against the abberations. Must I do everything myself?
